Career Resources for Federal Job Seekers
Our comprehensive collection of career resources has been
assembled to aid your federal job search.
Have questions about Federal hiring opportunities and
procedures? Check out our extensive collection of official Office of Personnel Management
(OPM) help documents.
Our currently featured article is Which Federal Employment Application
Format? Learn which format is best and why.
Choosing a career or preparing to write a résumé? The Department of Labor's
Occupational
Outlook Handbook and Dictionary
of Occupational Titles contain a wealth of information about specific
occupations, including descriptions of job duties which could help you get started writing
your resume or Federal employment application. Search either document from our site.
No career-related web site would be complete without a list of links to Career Resources on the web. After much research, we located a
comprehensive list compiled by the Peace Corps, which we have abstracted here.
Before applying for a specific federal job, you may wish to research the
agency. Check out our comprehensive list of Executive Branch links
to official agency web sites.
Finally, we recently searched the web in vain for a really
comprehensive resume guide to link to from this page. While we found many good collections
of tips, we could not find a comprehensive resource that could guide someone through the
entire process, answering many of the most common questions individuals have. So we wrote
our own 15-Minute
Resume Manual. We hope you find it useful! |
